“I volunteer because it’s a way of helping others do the things I love doing. You can’t put a value on the smiles, laughter, banter and fun as we come ashore after a great day’s sailing. What’s not to like?”
Neil Lawrence
All the volunteers who are involved in our on-water activities hold a relevant qualification as listed:
Motor cruiser’s
Sailing
- RYA Keelboat instructor or Dinghy Instructor
Powerboats
Canoes
“To be granted the opportunity to assist, enable and enhance our visitors experience, is both humbling and satisfying. To see smiles and occasional tears of joy, makes volunteering very worth while.”
Les Wood
We welcome applications from people who can demonstrate that they have the relevant skills to complete the necessary qualifications as listed above.
All our water-based volunteering roles require a reasonable but varying degree of physical fitness and mobility in and on our boats.
You will need to have the physical capability to effectively assist visitors while on our boats, to carry out rescues and to administer first aid and CPR if required.
Not all our volunteers are water based and we have a variety of “off water” roles that you may be willing to help with.
