Make a difference as a volunteer

We are particularly looking for Volunteers who can meet the following attributes, with the ability to:

  • Communicate effectively and sensitively with all visitors to the Trust
  • Work effectively within the Trust team
  • Commit fully to our goal of ensuring that everyone visiting the Trust has a safe and enjoyable time with us
  • High standards of personal presentation and hygiene
  • Empathy and approachability
  • Willingness to engage with ongoing training to improve skills for your role
  • Commit to a minimum of 12 days per year

All the volunteers who are involved in our on-water activities hold a relevant qualification as listed:

Current Vacancies

We welcome applications from people who can demonstrate that they have the relevant skills to complete the necessary qualifications as listed above.

All our water-based volunteering roles require a reasonable but varying degree of physical fitness and mobility in and on our boats.
You will need to have the physical capability to effectively assist visitors while on our boats, to carry out rescues and to administer first aid and CPR if required.

Not all our volunteers are water based and we have a variety of “off water” roles that you may be willing to help with.

  • Answering call and greeting visitors
  • Taking payments
  • Scanning and photocopying

Promotional events and shows

  • Preparing for events and shows
  • Setting and takedown at events and shows
  • Manning stands
  • Informing the public about we do

Photography and filming

  • Photos and films for our social media outlets and promotional materials
  • Cataloguing media files
