Leave a gift in your Will
In 1984 Richard Kenyon founded the Trust, whose idea was to provide a centre and facilities where anyone with a disability or who was socially disadvantaged could experience and participate in water-based activities on a day or residential basis. His legacy lives on in The Nancy Oldfield Trust.
Gifts in Wills or Legacies help the Trust to continue to develop and provide improved access to the those who otherwise could get out on the Broads.
If you are considering leaving a legacy to the Nancy Oldfield Trust, thank you. Any gift makes a real difference to our visitors.
A gift in your Will can help people access the Norfolk broads who would otherwise to struggle to enjoy the beauty, peace, and tranquility of the area.
By staying at our accessible properties or by going out on one of our boats, many of our visitors reflect on the positive effect that being on the water has on their well-being.
Examples of Legacy funding
Legacies have enabled us to develop our services and resources to help more people to come to trust.
Kenyon Bungalow extension
In 1999 we doubled the capacity of the bungalow and now up to 10 people can stay in our accessible bungalow and access our activities. This has enabled larger groups to come and stay.
Hazel
We generously gifted Hazel 2020. She needed an extensive refit to make the adaptations that would make her fit for purpose for our visitors. This meant that the floors, existing engine, interior all had to be removed and replaced.
The hull and superstructure had to be sand blasted and repaired ready for repainting and finishing. She will be coming into service in August 2024. Without a legacy this would not have happened.
New slipway
The piling and quay headings at the trust were in a poor state of repair and the slipway was too shallow and narrow to be effective. We had to take our sailing boats to another boat yard to take them out and put them in each year.
With Legacy funding we were able to redesign the quay heading slipway so we could recover our boat at the base. Launching our rafted canoes, pedal launches were made easier. We are now able to use the full width of the quay to manage boats.
Next Steps
